Our volunteer programme is ideal for young people between the ages of 17-19 years who wish to gain OCN accreditation as well has practical experience. Volunteers will meet weekly to work towards an OCN level 2 in youth work, and complete relevant training such as First Aid, child protection as well as having the opportunity to complete the Duke of Edinburgh award. Volunteers can expect to develop skills such as; leadership, confidence, teamwork, communication and event planning. Volunteers build positive and purposeful relationships with young people, take on a leadership role within the group work and drop-in services, and are a valued part of the wider Streetbeat team. Participants from successful programmes have continued their youth work journey by completing the Community Youth Work degree at Ulster university.
