Volunteering has long been an important part of the experience at Streetbeat Youth Project and we are very proud that so many young people have enjoyed their time with us so much that they move onto the Volunteer Programme and work with the younger members of the Project. In fact, some of our staff are previous volunteers!

During this programme the trainee volunteers complete training in various areas such as leadership & child protection as well as gaining OCN qualifications that are recognised by employers.  During the training the volunteers then participate in groups and drop-in putting the theory into practice. The volunteers work towards their Volunteer Now certificates and once they reach the milestone 200 hours they receive these at an awards ceremony. You do not have to want to persue a full-time career in Youth Work to become a volunteer as all skills learned are transferable to other fields.

February 2015 a group of volunteers travelled to Costa Rica to help with building work in a school and work with its young pupils.  This was a life changing opportunity for all involved and can be read in detail in the Blog section.  If you are interested in joining the Volunteer Programme here at Streetbeat Youth Project just speak to any of the staff or contact us by dropping in, phoning, email or Facebook.
